I am a senior citizen fisherman who grew up on the water and had my own boat by age ten. I was confident in my boating/skiing/fishing abilities and the safety measures required for water activities. For years I carried the required PFDs on my boats but seldom would wear one. As age has been sneaking up reason has taken over. Not as steady and agile as I used to be. Since receiving the Onyx A/M-24 I have religiously worn it each time I have been on the lake. It is comfortable and does not impede actions or activities. I have confidence that it will inflate should I go overboard and will keep my head above water. I did a test run prior to designating it as my go to PFD. I purposely fell backwards off the deck into 10 feet of water. At about 2 feet under (3 or 4 seconds) the vest inflated and I was floating on my back with head above water about 6 seconds after immersion. It cost $16 for the recharge kit but the peace of mind was worth it.
